Car Insurance Saab (Car Insurance). How can I make a 3g eclipse faster? How can I make a 3g eclipse faster? I have a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse gts and I wanna know how to make it faster and if I should super charge it or turbo it and all of what I would need for that. remove the hood, the trunk door, and the other doors as well. easy 100lbs weight loss. more vroom vroom. lol. jk. but honestly, check this out on ebay. its the full kit. its a little pricey but it includes everything. you would need a professional install and a tune, but you can easily gain a 100+ hp or more. A for sale sign. The 3rd Gen eclipse is heavy and poorly designed. It was built primarily to appeal to secretaries who wanted a "cute", comfortable car to drive to work every day. That's why they didn't have the AWD option, or the turbo-4 cylinder option. Auto parts : Hood Bumper Acura 1995 . Hood Cable Alfa Romeo 1996 . Hood Catch Audi 1997 . Hood Hinge BMW 1998 . I currently have vacuum running to PCV valve, vacuum advance (HEI distributor), power brakes, and 350 turbo tranny (4 in total). I have 3 running from carb (Holley 4150 Series) and 1 from a vacuum fitting going to manifold port. I have a cast iron Z28 intake and want to switch to a Brodix HV1016 aluminum manifold because I am putting trick flow aluminum heads on my motor. I want to run the Brodix Manifold because the height is same as stock and an Edelbrock RPM or Weiand Stealth is an inch taller which will not allow my hood to close. My problem is that the Brodix HV1016 does not have a vacuum port and I have no more vacuum fittings on my carburetor. My question is kind of a multi-part question: 1. Can I branch one of the vacuum lines with a "tee fitting" to split one line coming off the carb to 2 different places? 2. If I did #1, would the vacuum be too weak from the split to be effective? 3. If I did this, which feeds should I split to (for the lines that require the least amount of vacuum)? 4. Is there another way to better get vacuum from a SBC that I should know about? car insurance. Saab . Can You Replace Stock Suburban Speakers With Bose?Owners of a great big Chevy Suburban may be looking for a high quality Bose speaker system to fill that huge cabin with crisp audio --- but if the SUV did not already come with a Bose Sound system, car owners are out of luck. Availabllity Bose sound systems are available for the Suburban and many other Chevy models. Bose, in fact, makes systems for most major and even some obscure auto manufacturers. Car Audio Specialties Bose custom builds audio systems to match the space of the interior to produce the highest quality sounds. Their speakers and receivers are scientifically designed to mimic concert halls. After Market Speakers Bose does not sell aftermarket speakers. The company specializes in custom systems for vehicles that take advantage of advanced acoustics. That would not be achieved with an aftermarket product; so once it leaves the factory, if your Suburban does not have a Bose system, it never will.
Saab . How to Replace the Alternator on a 2000 Ford ZX2 Tensioner PulleyThe alternator on the 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 uses a tensioner pulley to keep tension on the belt. One belt--a serpentine belt--turns all the accessories. The tensioner is an automatic tensioner, and if working properly, it keeps the belt at the proper tension until the belt stretches too much and needs replacing. When removing one of the components, such as the alternator, ensure that the belt routing diagram is available. You can usually find it on the radiator support or the underside of the hood. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Set or wrenches Set of sockets Screwdriver Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Remove the negative battery cable, using the appropriate wrench. Lay the cable aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Fit the appropriate socket onto the bolt in the center of the tensioner pulley. Rotate the pulley away from the belt to loosen tension on the belt. Lift the belt off the pulleys. 2 Remove the hose on the coolant tank reservoir, using the screwdriver. Unplug the water level sensor, using your fingers. Unbolt and remove the reservoir, using the appropriate socket. 3 Unplug the wiring harness connector on the back of the alternator, using your fingers. Remove the nut holding the power wire onto the back of the alternator, using the appropriate wrench. Pull the wire off the stud. Remove the alternator's mounting bolts, using the appropriate socket. Lift the alternator off the engine. 4 Fit the alternator onto the engine and insert the mounting bolts. Start the mounting bolts by hand, only tightening them a few threads. Attach the power wire and tighten the nut to 6 foot-pounds of torque. Tighten the alternator mounting bolts to 32 foot-pounds of torque. 5 Plug the wiring harness connector into the alternator. Reinstall the coolant tank reservoir, plug in the water level sensor and reattach the hose. Reinstall the accessory drive belt, starting at the crankshaft pulley and routing it around the rest of the pulleys, leaving the tensioner pulley until last. Rotate the tensioner pulley toward the engine, slide the belt over the pulley and allow it to gently move into place. Reinstall the negative battery cable. Store used coolant safely until disposal. Pour the used coolant into a container with a screw-on cap, label the container as "coolant" or "antifreeze," and place it well out of the reach of kids and pets until you can dispose of it, following the instructions in Step 6. Don't use containers that formerly contained beverages. They are too easily mistaken, and the sweet taste of the coolant can compound the error. 6. Dispose of used coolant safely. The most environmentally safe method is to take the coolant to a recycling center that handles toxic waste or bring it to a place that specifically recycles used coolant. Some auto supply stores accept used coolant as a public service. Call the major stores in your area to see whether they do so. If not, try a service station. They can either run the coolant through their recycling machine or include it in the batch they send out for safe disposal. Saab . GMC Sierra (Classic) 2500 Regular Cab & Chassis. * The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) advises, "If your home is connected to a sanitary or municipal sewer system, household quantities of antifreeze can be flushed down the drain with plenty of water." The EPA warns that antifreeze can overwhelm the organisms in your septic system, damaging the system, and suggests that if your wastewater goes into a septic tank, you should dispose of antifreeze in a sanitary sewer system. The organization cautions, "Do not pour antifreeze into storm sewer openings, sinkholes, or abandoned wells." EH If your engine boils over, be sure to clean up the spill wherever you are. Wild animals are just as vulnerable to being poisoned by coolant as domestic pets are. Finding Leaks in the Cooling System In addition to keeping the water and coolant level where it needs to be, you can prevent trouble by keeping an eye out for leaks and replacing old or damaged hoses. Figure 14-4 shows the common trouble spots in the cooling system — the places where you should check for coolant leaks. The following sections give you a few pointers on what types of coolant leaks to look for, and the section "Repairing Leaks in the Cooling System" tells you what to do if you find them. If it's coolant (green, red, blue, orange, or rust colored), look around the parts of the car that are over the puddle and feel around for wetness. If you're not sure what the stuff that's leaking out of your vehicle is, see Chapter 20 for an easy way to locate, troubleshoot, and deal with leaks of all types, including oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. '>art'"" ^eeP'n9 ^our ^ar m Good Condition, System by System Check the radiator Look around your radiator for whitish deposits or rust-colored stains. These indicate old leaks that have dried. They may not be all that old; water tends to evaporate quickly on a hot radiator. If you find any, the "Radiator leaks" section later in this chapter tells you what to do. Also check the front end of the radiator to see whether the surface is befouled with dirt, leaves, and bugs. If so, remove them with a brush and a garden hose. ^ —-^ If your radiator catches a lot of debris, you can attach a piece of nylon window screen over the front surface with twist-ties to trap the stuff and keep it from getting stuck between the radiator fins. If you aren't sure, ask a mechanic to pressure-test your cap to see whether it's functioning properly. If you need a new one, give the salesperson the make, model, and year of your vehicle and check the pressure limits (psi) on the new cap against your owner's manual to make sure that you're buying the proper cap for the amount of pressure in your cooling system. Never let a service station you don't normally frequent hook you into buying a new radiator cap unless you make them pressure-test your old cap. You may want to have them test the new cap, as well.
